SAMTRAC International Program

To receive a SAMTRAC International certificate, the learner must successfully obtain an average score of 65% (sixty five percent) or above for the final assessment. The final assessment is written in a class room type environment at one of SAMTRAC International's registered exam venues. In order to qualify to write the final assessment, students are required to obtain an average score of 65% (sixty five percent) or above for the online assessment. Whilst there is no limit to the number of times students are able to complete the online assessment, students will only be able to write the final assessment twice before having to re-register for the course.

How long does it take to complete the program?
Once registered for SAMTRAC International, the learner has a maximum period of 9 months to complete the course, but may complete the course within a month should they wish. The student must complete the online assessment in order to qualify to write the final exam. Exams are held at least quarterly at SAMTRAC International accredited centres and students must write the exam within the stipulated time frames.

Code Of Ethics And Standards Of Professional Conduct

The Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct are fundamental to the values of SAMTRAC International and essential to achieving its aim of improving skills within the global occupational HSE industry. These Codes and Standards are integral in promoting the integrity of SAMTRAC International's current and past students, along with its accreditation bodies. All SAMTRAC International students are encouraged to comply with the Code and Standards and should notify their employer of this responsibility.

SAMTRAC International students should:

  1. Act with integrity, competence, diligence, respect, and in an ethical manner with the public, clients, prospective clients, employers, employees and colleagues in the HSE profession.

  2. Place the integrity of the HSE profession and the interests of colleagues, contractors, clients and all other site visitors above their own personal agendas.

  3. Use reasonable care and exercise independent professional judgment when conducting all functions around HSE management systems.

  4. Practice and encourage others to practice in a professional and ethical manner that will reflect credit on themselves and the HSE profession.

  5. Promote the integrity of and uphold the rules governing HSE in the workplace, particularly with respect to local legislation, and international best practice.

  6. Maintain and improve their professional competence and strive to maintain and improve the competence of other HSE professionals.

Registering for a SAMTRAC International Exam

Exam venues can be located within the ‘Examinations Information’ section outlined under exam centres. Whilst exams will be held at the end of each quarter, companies with 10 or more learners will be able to dictate the exam periods and the location of the exams.

Within 30 days of registering for the course, students are required to select an exam date and venue. Once logged-in to the learner management system (LMS) you will be prompted to register for an exam. From the date of registration students have up to 9 months to complete the exam, however, we encourage all students to complete the course and exam within 6 months.
