About E-Learning
SAMTRAC International's e-learning platform has been designed to be fully interactive and is aimed at providing a practical experience that equips the learner with the knowledge and skills to implement and manage an HSE management system. Whilst e-learning is a growing trend, it is a broad term that can be used to describe any means of web, computer or internet based training. Naturally, this may result in the quality of e-learning training varying considerably between different service providers.
To ensure that SAMTRAC International's content is delivered to learners in a medium that is unrivalled and is at the highest level of e-learning quality, SAMTRAC has formed a strategic partnership with Cornerstone On Demand (www.cornerstoneondemand.com). Cornerstone, which is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange in the USA, provides internationally recognised learner management system (LMS) platforms to approximately 8.2 million users across 180 countries. The relationship allows us to deliver the content in a form that adds significant value to the end learner, through mediums that are unrivalled.
Benefits Of E-Learning
There are many significant advantages for the student who learns online. Here are just a few to consider:
1. Convenience and Portability
- Courses are accessible on your schedule
- Online learning does not require physical attendance
- Learning is self-paced (not too slow, not too fast)
- You're unbound by time - courses are available 24/7
- You're unbound by place - study at home, work, or on the road
2. Flexibility
- Online learning accommodates your preferences and needs
- Skip over material you already know and focus on topics you'd like to learn
- Use the tools best suited to your learning styles
3. Higher Retention
- Online learning will draw you to topics you like and enjoy. Studies show that because of this and the variety of delivery methods used to reach different types of learners, retention is frequently better than in a traditional classroom.
4. Greater Collaboration
- Technology tools make collaboration among students much easier. Since many projects involve collaborative learning, the online environment is far easier (and often more comfortable) to work in since learners don't have to be face-to-face.
5. Global Opportunities
- The global learning community is at your fingertips with online learning. The technologies used give online instructional designers the ability to build in tools that take you to resources you may never see in a traditional classroom.
6. Networking Opportunities
- Networking opportunities: learners are able to correspond with people in their same profession from around the world. In addition to this, learners are able to connect with industry professionals from around the world.
7. Open Scheduling
- Online education allows professionals to continue their careers while working towards a further qualification

SAMTRAC is broken down into eight modules. Whilst the modules are independent of each other, it is imperative that the learner understands how each module influences the other. For example: It is important to understand how to apply the lessons learnt in the safety module when learning to conduct a risk assessment in module six.
